But, as the scene unfolds, it’s clear that the show doesn’t have much left to say. If we were discussing what single major issue adversely impacted this final season of House of Cards the most — and boy is there a lot to choose from — the decision to center so much of the story on Frank Underwood would have to be in the conversation. When allegations of sexual misconduct against Kevin Spacey saw him removed from the show, the writers had to quickly pivot away from their original final season arc that would have seen Frank and Claire battling for power. That’s no easy task, and choosing to kill Frank off screen makes a lot of sense.
But as they say “the show must go on” and that is ultimately what Netflix has decided to do. Claire tells him Frank “got weak,” though it’s probably not the best thing to tell him. Because they’re together in the Oval Office, where the president has just acquired the nuclear football from its military handler after having him arrested for trying to prevent her from using it.
Weirder still was that she was able to foil a supposedly elaborate assassination conspiracy from within her own government by pointing out the would-be killer—a soldier carrying a nuclear briefcase—and having him taken away by the Secret Service. These plot conveniences happened, quite obviously, to clear the stage for the final showdown between Claire and Doug, the only two major characters still in the mix. Ending on Claire killing Doug, saying, “There, no more pain,” and then looking villainously into the camera is so very House of Cards. The tone, delivery, and direction of the scene suggest something shocking and substantial, but there’s not much there underneath. This season didn’t give us a reason to care, instead running out the clock and asking us to be satisfied with guessing who might survive until the end.

In regards to his character Frank Underwood, the main character of the show has been killed off-screen as Spacey did not return to set to film a death scene. We know Frank has died as Netflix released a teaser trailer for season 6 and we see his wife Claire standing over his gravestone. And yet, as the final moments of the House of Cards series finale reveals, the ultimate fate of Frank Underwood, his many schemes and those who carried them out on his behalf is finally revealed. The former president wasmurdered, but not by Claire, whose complicity in the matter is teased throughout the season.
Much like in the previous trailer (immediately below), the tone of the Claire Underwood presidency is prevalent. While it goes without saying that she and her (late) husband, Frank, have left a long trail of blood and personal destruction during their amoral rise, we see the now-president, Claire, trying to obscure those sins behind the façade of feminism. However, it appears that the Underwood chickens will most likely come home to roost in an epic way in this final season.

It is semi-close to The Grove if you want to stop by on a visit over there. While a lot of filming does take place in Downtown Los Angeles the homes for characters are typically found in more residential neighborhoods.
